CINEMA: Darrell

My friend Zach and I did a short on Darrell for Restore Church (http://www.restorecc.org/).  Without giving away too much about him, he’s basically a living example of somebody that found their way back to God.  Darrell was a great guy to work with so watch and find out a little more about him.  Enjoy!

FOTO: Matt and Elizabeth Married

Matt and Elizabeth are an awesome, madly in love couple who I met through some friends of mine. As you can tell by the photo of their cake, they love words and love to read. The groom’s cake was pretty awesome as well! And, the luck is still on my side…I yet to have a wedding get ruined by rain. The whole day was overcast, and it did sprinkle some, but overall it was perfect. Enjoy!

FOTO: Will and Ashley Married

Will and Ashley share a similar story to my wife and I.  They started dating in high school and then went off to college and separated for a while.  Then without a doubt they got back together and here they are today…married.  Enjoy!

CINEMA: Something to Eat

There are millions of starving people in the world and my friend Austin is doing something about it.  Something to Eat is a program that Youthfront created to feed hungry people all over the world.  Simply stated, it’s awesome.  My friend Austin actually heads it up and does an amazing job.  I’m so thankful for friends and people like that.  Anyway, I had the opportunity to be a very very small part in helping Austin by creating this video for a Something to Eat event coming up at the University of Central Missouri.  I also helped, in part, because it’s where I went to school and Brad Smith with the Christian Campus House is heading it up on campus and CCH is funding it.  Thanks to Kelsey Stephens for the stop motion addition!

One last thing…Austin’s sole income is by support from family, friends, or really anyone who wants to help.  If no one supported him then there wouldn’t be someone leading groups of people packaging meals.  You aren’t going to solve world hunger by supporting Austin, but every little bit helps.  Austin didn’t ask me to say this and I’m not asking you to support him, but if you feel like that’s something you want to do then email me and we can get it figured out.  Enjoy.

FOTO: Paul and Katie Married

Paul and Katie are a funny couple.  I didn’t know them before the wedding so when the vows were exchanged and they said something like “I will love you even when you’re weird,” I was a little caught off guard!  From what I gathered yesterday, they have a lot of love and support from their families and friends in their funniness, and her grandpa likes to dance (even to Lady Gaga).  Enjoy!

FOTO: More from SXSW

South by Southwest was awesome!  It was my first time going and hopefully not my last.  I was able to see great things, learn some new things, and meet and see some cool people (Andrew WK, Rainn Wilson, the Cash Cab guy).  So here’s some random shots with some Kodak 120 BW film.  Enjoy!

FOTO: Motion City Soundtrack at SXSW

I have a few more coming soon, but for now here’s some shots from the Motion City Soundtrack show at south by southwest.  The band before them was I Fight Dragons and they were an awesome 8-bit pop band.  I’ll start with that one.  All of these shot on Mamiya 645e with Kodak 800 Portra film.  Enjoy!

FOTO: The Ataris

Thought I’d share a quick pic while on my way down to South by Southwest. I’ll have some updates from sxsw later, but for now here’s a quick pic from the Ataris show on Tuesday. After all these years I never had the chance to see one of my favorite bands and they just so happened to come on my wife’s birthday so it was a win win! See, we have a little history with the band because one of their songs was our song when we started dating back in 9th grade…which, by the way is so crazy to think about. All in all it was a great show, I wish they would have played more old stuff but I cant complain, I got to see them. Enjoy!
